Electronics Engineer

Description:
Initiate, develop, execute civil complete designs and high-level take-offs/estimates for rooftop and ground-mounted PVprojects in-house and/or/in combination with specializedconsultants while providing subcontracting and constructiondirect support as required during the post design-phases ofthe projects
Follow good engineering standards and practiceson commercial to utility scale ground mount androoftop solar PV projects to ensure thatengineering deliverables comply with applicablecodes and regulations (mainly Canada and US)and that engineering decisions are made alsobased on Company best interest and taking intoconsideration project economics.
Uphold all related health, safety andenvironmental policies and any other relevantCompany policy.
Perform and maintain civil engineering designs,simulations, calculations, and provide direction tothe design team.
Draft IFR/IFC drawing packages, using CIVIL3D orequivalent CAD platform for every projectassigned.
Request and negotiate pricing, review, and selectproposals from qualified consulting firms.
Develop building, environmental, transportationand other permitting plans with Authorities HavingJurisdiction for in projects in development phases.
Prepare/update site specific Quality Controlprograms for use by the construction team andsubcontractors, in compliance with clientrequirements.
Be available for site visits, as required, to kick offcivil construction subcontractors and monitorconstruction progress and compliance with IFCdrawings and Quality Control programs.
Lead project coordination meetings on civil designand construction with internal team membersand/or external with specialized consultants,owner and contractor, sub-contractors, andvendors.
Support Project and Construction Managers in-consolidation and compiling completed field documents for submission to client on projectcompletion (As-Builts)
Participates in constructability review, risk review,value engineering, and lessons learned sessions.
Participate Business development/Bid meeting andprovide value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
Develop general and high-level site layouts (Civil)using PHLEGON series products or any other 3rdparty racking based on their published andavailable specifications and tolerances.
Prepare take-offs using CAD for roadways,trenching, grading (cut & fill volumes)
Provide pile design recommendation based ongeotechnical reports
Visit potential solar sites for assessments and civilestimates
Periodic site visits to kick off civil constructionsubcontractors
Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 3 years or more experience
Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.)by a provincial or territorial association
Computer and Technology Knowledge
Cloud, Power Line Systems, computer aided designand drafting (PLS-CADD), AutoCAD, MS Office,Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs),Matrix Laboratory (MATLAB)
